About the Owner

Owner Emily Field

Emily Field

Emily decided to put down roots in Rutland, Vermont after years of traveling and studying the Decorative Arts. Her passion for historical preservation found her working with everything from old scrapbooks in the Michigan State University Archives to Shoshone baskets in Death Valley National Park. She has a Masters degree in Material Culture from Bard Graduate Center and has had the privilege of studying with some of the world’s most prestigious museums, but she is most proud of her background as an artisan-crafter and restorer. In opening Heritage Workshop, her dream is to help people care for the things they use most and the things that hold a special place in their heart, and maybe in doing so, help keep our world a little more sustainable.
